This past weekend, the Hoke girls came to visit us in Portland and we had a ton of fun. We spent time at the local park, visited a pumpkin patch, went to the zoo and hiked to waterfalls.
The girls seemed to like Grant Park most of all because there are statues of Ramona Quimby, Henry Higgins and Ribsy the dog. All of these characters are from books written by Beverly Cleary, who lived in our neighborbood. Camille just started reading Cleary's books, so all the statues and Klickitat street were a hit!
Oh, and David showed them a tree down the street with a huge hole and said it was the hole Alice in Wonderland jumped in to get to wonderland. It was quite cute to see them look into the hole with their imaginations running wild.
Thanks for a great visit, Hokes! Come back soon.
