Another Quick Trip to Seattle

I think we’ve visited the wonderful city of Seattle about five times since we moved back to the West Coast. Every time we’re in Seattle, I have city envy. It’s a magnificent city.  Last weekend, we took yet another quick trip. David had some business meetings and we were invited to a fabulous dinner at Canlis http://www.canlis.com/ (a top notch restaurant). Our friend, Nikki Davidson used to work at Canlis and this particular dinner was her retirement gift; we were honored to be apart of the time.

The Davidsons are expecting their third daughter any day now. The picture below reminds me of how my stomach will continue to grow over the next couple of months.

These next pics are in honor of my husband, the food connoisseur.

The cauliflower, apple, panna cotta and caviar first course....  My favorite in terms of design and flavor.  The little cylinder at the end of the plate is the pickled granny smith apple; and you can see on the left side of the plate that a slice of the cauliflower is on top of another pickled apple cylinder.   There was also a sorbet with this course at the end.

The young chicken breast, leek and potatoe 3rd course.  You can see how rich the Mosel Riesling is that came with this course.

Amber's lobster tail

My main course -- venison

Andy's duck (there were 2 plates of this)

The somelier preparing our coffee -- which was flambee for about 90 seconds.  It was brandy, triple sec and grand marnier mostly.

The carrot cake was in a cream cheese mousse frosting with orange glacee

Our post dinner photo at 10:15pm.
